Your First Visit

The short answer

About 60 minutes, and it begins with a conversation rather than an examination. We talk first, then examine, photograph and take a 3D scan — no impression putty. Your own images go up on a screen so you see what we see, and you leave with a written Dental Wellness Roadmap: what needs doing now, what can wait, and what each part costs. Nothing is treated on the day unless you ask for it.

The visit, step by step

  1. Decompression. The appointment begins when you come through the door. The room is designed to feel less like a clinic and more like a quiet lounge — dark woods, sandalwood and amber, soft neo-jazz. No sterile waiting room, no clinical smell. A moment to breathe.

  2. The warm-up. Settle in with a cup of warm herbal tea. Registration is entirely digital and done on a tablet while you sit — no clipboard, no forms on your knee.

  3. Conversation before examination. Your dentist sits down with you before looking in your mouth: your history, what you want, and anything you are anxious about. We start by listening.

  4. The digital tour. A 3D scan with the Invisalign Lumina scanner, and CBCT imaging where it is needed — a full map of your mouth in minutes, without goopy impression trays. Your scans go on a large screen so you can see exactly what we are looking at. We would rather show you why than tell you what.

  5. Treatment, only if you want it. If anything is done on the day, comfort comes first: video glasses or noise-cancelling headphones, numbing gel before any injection, and a hand signal agreed in advance so you can stop at any point.

  6. The roadmap. You leave with a written Dental Wellness Roadmap rather than just clean teeth — a clear, prioritised plan with the costs set out. No hidden costs and no surprise urgencies.

The Dental Wellness Roadmap

Most people leave a dental appointment holding a vague sense that “something needs doing”. The roadmap exists so you leave holding a document instead.

  • What needs doing now, and why it will not improve on its own.
  • What can wait and be watched — measured against your scan at each visit, so change is measurable rather than remembered.
  • What is optional, clearly marked as optional.
  • What each part costs, in writing, before anything starts. See the published fees.

It is sequenced by priority, not by convenience, and it is yours to take to another dentist for a second opinion if you would like one.

Our commitments

Before you become a patient, we think you should know how decisions get made here.

Needed
If a tooth does not require treatment, we will say so — even where a treatment could technically be done.
Right fit
If a specialist or a second opinion would serve you better, we will refer you. Your outcome matters more than keeping the case in-house.
Your pace
Some people want to move quickly; others need time to consider. We do not push in either direction.

That is what calm dentistry means here — not only the atmosphere in the room, but how decisions get made in it.

What to bring

  • NRIC or passport.
  • CHAS, Pioneer Generation or Merdeka Generation card, if you have one.
  • A list of medications you take.
  • Any recent X-rays or records from a previous dentist, if you have them.

If you are nervous

Say so when you book — it changes how we run the appointment, not how we think of you. We can set aside a longer slot, or arrange a talk-only visit with no examination at all: you sit in the room, we discuss what you are worried about, and nothing happens.

Video glasses and noise-cancelling headphones are available. Topical anaesthetic goes on before any injection. And if you want to stop at any point, you stop.

Questions

How long does a first visit take?

About 60 minutes. That covers the conversation, the examination, photographs, a 3D scan and going through what we found, without rushing any of it.

What is the Dental Wellness Roadmap?

A written plan you take away at the end of a first visit. It sets out what needs doing now, what can wait and be monitored, what is optional, and what each part costs — in priority order, so nothing arrives later as a surprise.

Will I need treatment on the first visit?

Not unless you want it or something is urgent. The first visit is for understanding what is going on and agreeing a plan.

What does the first visit cost?

S$218 including GST for the consultation, examination and 3D scan. X-rays are quoted separately before being taken. See our fees page.

Can I bring my children to the same appointment?

Yes. Tell us at booking and we will try to arrange consecutive slots so you make one trip.
